60th Annual GRAMMY Awards nominated “Atlas, Rise!” — James Hetfield & Lars Ulrich, songwriters (Metallica) for Best Rock Song. The winner will be revealed on January 28, 2018. Best Rock Album nominee is Hardwired…To Self-Destruct by Metallica.
Hardwired...To Self-Destruct is the first new Metallica studio album in eight years, debuting at #1 around the world. Metallica performs Atlas Rise at the Metallica Hollywood block party, Los Angeles, CA December 2016.

For Whom The Bell Tolls follows. Metallica recorded the thrash heavy metal rock classic on their second album Ride The Lightning in 1984. Metallica is James Hetfield on vocals/guitar, Lars Ulrich on drums, Kirk Hammett on lead guitar and Robert Trujillo on bass guitar. Metallica performed next day December 15th further down the street on Hollywood Blvd for their Los Angeles Regional Food Bank benefit concert at The Fonda Theater.
Metallica will perform at 2017 Grammy Awards. Metallica are up for one award at this year's Grammys, with their "Hardwired" nominated for Best Rock Song. The band promised it has "something very unique and special planned for this celebratory night."

On the Metallica site, the band said, "First, it was a total honor to be nominated, but now this?!!? We’re beyond excited that we have been invited to perform on the 59th annual Grammy Awards telecast ... It's been three years since we were lucky enough to participate in the awards show when we last performed with world-renowned Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang and we’re thrilled to be asked back."
